Acceptable Use Policy

Rules and guidelines governing the use of the ARQERA platform and its AI services. Last updated: February 2026.

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all users of the ARQERA platform, including individuals, teams, and organisations accessing the platform through any subscription tier (Free, Team, Business, or Enterprise), API access, or any other means.

This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and forms part of the agreement between you and Arqera Limited. In the event of a conflict between this AUP and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service shall prevail.

2. Permitted Uses

ARQERA is designed for lawful business purposes. You may use the platform for:

  • Business operations — Managing workflows, automating processes, and streamlining day-to-day business activities.
  • Compliance and regulatory management — Monitoring compliance obligations, generating evidence artifacts, conducting audits, and maintaining regulatory records.
  • AI governance — Deploying, evaluating, and governing AI agents and models with appropriate human oversight and policy enforcement.
  • Team collaboration — Facilitating communication, task management, and knowledge sharing within your organisation.
  • Data analysis and reporting — Generating insights, reports, and dashboards from your organisational data.
  • Integration with third-party services — Connecting authorised tools and services through the platform's integration capabilities.

3. Prohibited Activities

You must not use the ARQERA platform to engage in any of the following activities:

  • Abuse AI systems — Generating harmful, misleading, defamatory, or discriminatory content through AI features, or using AI outputs to make automated decisions about individuals without appropriate human oversight.
  • Circumvent security controls — Attempting to bypass authentication, authorisation, access controls, rate limits, or any other security mechanisms implemented by the platform.
  • Reverse engineer the platform — Decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying architecture of the platform.
  • Distribute malware — Uploading, transmitting, or distributing viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any other malicious software or code through the platform.
  • Violate data protection laws — Processing personal data in a manner that violates GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act 2018, or any other applicable data protection legislation.
  • Use for illegal purposes — Using the platform to facilitate, promote, or engage in any activity that is illegal under applicable law, including fraud, money laundering, or export control violations.
  • Harass other users — Using the platform to threaten, intimidate, harass, stalk, or otherwise engage in abusive behaviour towards other users, ARQERA employees, or any third party.
  • Exceed rate limits — Intentionally exceeding or attempting to circumvent API rate limits, usage quotas, or other resource limitations imposed by your subscription tier.
  • Impersonate others — Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation, or impersonating another user, organisation, or ARQERA personnel.
  • Resell without authorisation — Sublicensing, reselling, or redistributing access to the platform or its outputs without prior written authorisation from ARQERA.

4. AI-Specific Rules

The ARQERA platform includes AI-powered features. The following additional rules apply to your use of these capabilities:

4.1 No Training Competing Models

You must not use AI outputs generated by the ARQERA platform (including outputs from Ara, governance evaluations, and compliance assessments) to train, fine-tune, or improve competing AI models or services.

4.2 No Automated Scraping

Automated scraping, crawling, or systematic extraction of AI outputs, platform data, or any content from the ARQERA platform is prohibited. This includes the use of bots, scripts, or other automated tools to extract data at scale beyond normal API usage.

4.3 Responsible AI Usage

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of AI features complies with applicable regulations, including the EU AI Act where relevant to your use case. This includes:

  • Maintaining human oversight for high-risk AI applications
  • Verifying AI-generated outputs before acting on them
  • Not using AI features to make solely automated decisions that have legal or significant effects on individuals
  • Reporting AI errors or harmful outputs to ARQERA promptly
  • Complying with transparency obligations when using AI-generated content externally

4.4 Output Ownership and Responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you use, distribute, or rely on AI-generated outputs. ARQERA does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legal compliance of any AI output.

5. Enforcement

ARQERA reserves the right to enforce this AUP through a graduated response process:

ARQERA may skip stages in the enforcement process if a violation poses an immediate threat to platform security, other users, or legal compliance. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates this AUP without prior notice.

Decisions to suspend or terminate an account will be communicated in writing with the reasons for the action. You may appeal enforcement decisions by contacting [email protected] within 14 days of receiving notice.

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it promptly to:

In-app: Use the “Report” function available within the platform.

All reports are reviewed by our trust and safety team. We will acknowledge receipt within 2 business days and provide an outcome within 10 business days. Reports may be submitted anonymously.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users and through a notice on the platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
